At Monday’s Rotary meeting, we were proud to present a donation to our associate member Ross Wadsworth, supporting his journey in Boccia as he works towards his goal of competing at the Special Olympics. Ross thanked the club for its generous support, sharing insight into the remarkable nature of his sport.

Living with cerebral palsy, Ross competes using a specialised ramp and communicates entirely non-verbally with his carers, directing each shot with subtle eye movements while they face away from the court, an incredible display of trust, precision, and teamwork. With upcoming competitions in Tauranga and later national events in Christchurch, we look forward to following Ross’s progress and will keep members updated through our Rotary channels.
