This week, Sean, Vicky, Lucy and William visited North Shore Hospital to meet the team of Julie Bromley, Team Lead Anaesthetic Technicians. Peter Groom, Charge Nurse Manager, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Marja Peters, Charge Nurse Manager Emergency Department (ED) who showed them how the funds from the Drive 4 Life Charity Golf Day in December 2024 have enabled the upgrade of five transport ventilators for the safe transfer of critically ill babies and children. These ventilators will support seamless transfers between hospitals, including North Shore, Starship, and Waitākere, and will be used by helicopter crews during emergency retrievals across Northland. Their advanced design ensures fragile newborns and seriously unwell children receive continuous, life-saving respiratory support while in transit.
